FAQs – We will keep adding to this list as questions come in on the Facebook event page
Rules of The Chase:
Packet pickup is 8-830AM on Saturday, May 25th. We will give you a wristband you must wear and a 4×6″ waypoint postcard to share with your teammate. Start is 9am sharp, don’t be late!
-You must ride with your partner the entire time. This is about comraderie, teaming up and tackling the route you’ve taken on together.
-Riders must wait until 9am for the official start announced via air horn from Specialized Boulder
-Noon is the cutoff for your return to Specialized Boulder for your points to count.
**MAKE SURE TO BE BACK BEFORE THE CLOSING AIR HORN @ 12PM OR YOUR POINTS WILL NOT COUNT!**
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Based on the format of choosing your own route spread across greater Boulder County, this event is 18 and over. Thanks for understanding!
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is plenty of street parking but we encourage you to ride if you can. Parking at Specialized Boulder will likely be full and is very limited to begin with.
Will there be food provided after?
Our food truck didn’t pan out for this first round of the event but we’ll have some chips, sparkling water and refreshments from Boulder Beer. You’re welcome to bring food or order something delivered to Specialized Boulder.
What should I bring?
-A partner! Part of the fun is route finding and decision making with a friend, plus we’ll use the heavier of you two for the Chocolove prize weight. Yes, you must have a partner. We will give you one 4×6″ route card to share.
-Your bikes! A 30c or so gravel tire is ideal but you could tackle it on a MTB or a road bike if you were dedicated enough – just just might have to walk some sections on a road bike or move at a slower pace on the MTB.
-This is a self-supported, choose your own adventure, gravel ride. As such, please bring what you’ll need for weather, fixing flats, nutrition, etc. as well as a way to navigate (phone, GPS computer, etc).
-Bring a backpack or bag to leave at Specialized Boulder during the ride. Change of clothes, checkbook if you want to bid on any silent auction items, etc and we’ll have a place to keep them all while you’re away.
